Service Standards

Customers requirements can usually be fully satisfied from our extensive product range.  However, for the more specialist circumstances, our experienced Computer Aided Design (C.A.D.) equipped design team are available to propose an effective bespoke solution.

The facilities and procedures within our U.K. factory ensure that we can effectively respond to customers special needs, and minimise lead-times either for complete systems or individual spare parts.

To support the equipment in the field, we operate a nationwide network of our own factory trained service engineers.

Company Profile

The Company was founded in 1886 by William and Charles Smith, as building contractors in Birmingham.  Later, the business diversified into engineering, the first Railway Carriage Washing Plant being designed and built for the London and North Western Railway.

In 1944, SMITH BROS & WEBB LIMITED was formed to handle the growing volume of mechanical and electrical work being undertaken.  From the experience gained with the Railway Plants, a new range of Vehicle Washing Units was manufactured, primarily for the Bus industry.

In 1969, the Company moved to its present site at Alcester.  The range of equipment was further expanded and today, SMITH BROS & WEBB LIMITED is the foremost British manufacturer of washing systems for rail, passenger carrying and commercial vehicles.

The Britannia brand name has become synonymous with quality, efficiency and reliability.
